Description
ABSTRACT: Considering the research of alternative solutions at construction in environments with difficult access and the use of sustainable materials, the present work analyses the life cycle of a moulded adobe construction, made up of resistant walls of soil bags, based on a prototype developed in Nhangau, Mozambique's Sofala province. Starting from a raw material considered fragile and characterizing the materials that serve as the basis for the present study, the qualities and sustainability of said materials for the application in the low-cost constructions and where the access to the materials is difficult is demonstrated. Despite prejudice in relation to this type of constructions associated to poverty and despised by society, in Mozambique the buildings with soil are common, being the most common technology the soil of covering. In this way, it is necessary to raise awareness of the population for the execution of this type of construction as an alternative way to improve housing conditions.
