Description
Este Relatório de Estágio, estruturado em duas partes, foi elaborado para obtenção do título de Mestre em Ensino de música – saxofone e classe de conjunto na Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas do Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco. Na primeira parte, é feito um resumo da Prática Ensino Supervisionada decorrida no Conservatório Regional de Castelo Branco. Na segunda parte, é apresentado o projeto de investigação que gira em torno de um conjunto de práticas musicais definidas através da terminologia Música Erudita Ocidental Contemporânea.
Sem particularizar a aprendizagem do saxofone e atendendo a um enquadramento histórico e atual da música e do seu ensino em Portugal, têm-se como objetivos analisar de que forma essas práticas musicais estão integradas no ensino artístico especializado de música, perceber a sua representatividade na vida dos alunos e, nesse âmbito, reforçar os conhecimentos dos alunos através de atividades.
Por conseguinte, são escolhidos dois estabelecimentos de ensino artístico: o Conservatório Regional de Castelo Branco e o Conservatório de Música de Seia – Collegium Musicum. Segue-se a criação de um percurso de investigação que concilia metodologias qualitativas e quantitativas, recorrendo à análise documental, a um inquérito por questionário e à observação.
Foi inquirida uma população de 172 alunos do 7º ao 12º ano de escolaridade, proporcionando que descobrisse ou redescobrisse excertos de 22 obras contrastantes de compositores que vivem ou viveram nos séculos XX e XXI, os quais contrastam com as músicas populares ouvidas pela sua maioria.
Uma muito resumida introdução à música erudita ocidental dos séculos XX e XXI é também encontrada neste Relatório de Estágio. Serviu de base à atividade e destina-se a todos aqueles que queiram descobrir um pouco mais sobre os movimentos artísticos em música que surgiram e se desenvolveram ao longo dos últimos cerca de 120 anos.
Abstract : This report is structured in two parts and it was elaborated to obtain the title of Master’s in Music Teaching – saxophone and chamber music, at the Superior School of Applied Arts of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, Portugal. In the first part, there is a summary of the Supervised Teaching Practice held at the Regional Conservatory of Castelo Branco. The second part presents the research project about a set of musical practices generally defined as Western Contemporary Classical Music. Without particularizing the saxophone teaching and taking into account the historical and current context of music and its teaching in Portugal, the objectives are analyze how these Western Contemporary Classical Music is integrated in the music teaching, to perceive its representativeness in the students life and reinforce the students' knowledge through activities. Therefore, two music teaching establishments are chosen: Regional Conservatory of Castelo Branco and Music Conservatory of Seia - Collegium Musicum. A research path that combines qualitative and quantitative methodologies is created. It includes documentary analysis, a questionnaire survey and observation. There was an enquiry for a population of 172 students from the 7th to the 12th grade (in Portuguese education system). They were allowed to discover or rediscover extracts from 22 contrasting works by composers who live or lived in the 20th and 21st centuries, which contrasted with the popular music heard by the most of respondents. A very brief introduction to Western classical music of the 20th and 21st centuries is also found in this traineeship report. It is intended for everybody who want to discover a little more about music artistic movements that have emerged and developed over the past 120 years.
