Description
Abstract : The research carried out within the scope of the internship report has as its theme `the selection of the repertoire as a means of technical and interpretative development of the Viola student´. For effective teaching, the viola student currently learns with methods and works written in the viola clef (C clef in the third line), as well as the use of the G clef (treble clef) when presenting higher notes. Although there is repertoire from the earliest grades, much of this is adapted from other instruments, mainly the violin, with which the viola shares a basic technique. However, when the viola is no longer dependent on the violin, what are the existing methods and works dedicated to the viola, when they should be applied and how effective are they? In attempting to find an answer to the above questions, an investigation was carried out starting with a theoretical foundation that addresses the historical context of viola, from its origin to the evolution of its school in the 20th century. From here, fundamental points are drawn, such as existing methods, works, composers, pedagogues, violists, and schools. This contextualization also allows the creation of a foundation that can help to corroborate the information obtained during the rest of the investigation. Next, an action research is carried out together with a viola student, to whom the selected repertoire is applied for further analysis on the effectiveness of their progress. Along with action research, an analysis of evaluation criteria or programs for the discipline of this instrument is carried out from four different schools, which contain suggestions of repertoire for viola. With this, it is possible to create a base that helps to determine which works can be applied and to what degree these applications should be carried out. In addition to the investigation, the affective report on Supervised Teaching Practice, held at the Conservatory of Music in Seia, is present in the first part.
