Description
Abstract : Every day a television channel uses motion graphics to express its identity, being possible to observe its incorporation in the self-promotions, programs, informative blocks, reports, among others. Graphical packages are created to incorporate what the channel wants to transmit. In Portugal, none of the four generalist channels refrains from using motion graphics because it gives visibility to the content and captures the attention of a larger number of viewers. The present dissertation deals with motion graphics and its semantic relation to the corporate identity of a television channel. This research aims to discover how motion graphics contributes to the consolidation of the visual identity of a television channel, understanding the adoption of different tones of voice. For this, through a qualitative and non-interventionist methodology, it is proposed to resort to the case study of Rádio Televisão de Portugal 1, with collection, selection, analysis and critical synthesis of information. Therefore, the investigation is divided into three parts. The first part presents the historical context on motion graphics, where the areas of application and their components are defined. In the second part, an analysis is made of the visual identity, which defines it, where the composition of the television visual identity is deepened. In the third part the purpose of analyzing the identity of the RTP1 channel through motion graphics. In this way the process of constructing a visual identity and its main characteristics can be understood. Perceive the relationship between graphics, identity and self-promotion. It is intended that the research also examines whether sound and motion bring any advantages to the identity of a channel. It is therefore sought to discover in what ways motion graphics can contribute to the consolidation of the visual identity of a television channel.
