Description
Abstract : This paper presents a development project for a product that seeks to demonstrate the importance of sustainability within the creative processes, applying the Zero Waste Pattern Cutting technique in the design of creative products that seeks the trans-seasonality and the concepts of eco-efficiency. Initially, an investigation about sustainability and fashion after an investigation of the application of the concepts of eco-efficiency for products’ design. Consequently, Zero Waste Pattern Cutting techniques are applied with the objective of understanding the creative process and being able to use it in product development. After this phase an analysis of the possibilities of application of this technique is made and there is a module for the product, aiming at modularity. The work is based on the mixed, non-interventionist, interventionist research methodology. Looking for the union between sustainability and fashion. With the intention of deepening the learning, enabling the creative and sustainable development of the project. The interest in this study came as a result of the experiences that took place in the Masters in Clothing and Textiles of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco in association with the University of Architecture of Lisbon.
