Description
Abstract : This report was written with compliance with the requirements of the Masters in Music Teaching. This describes two distinct steps, the action developed in the curricular unit of Supervised Teaching Practice and the Research Project. The first part of the internship report is devoted to the Supervised Teaching Practice and is divided into three distinct parts. In the first chapter will be made a brief characterization of the educational institution where the internship was carried out. The main body of this stage consists of the elements related to the development of pedagogical practice: students’ characterization, objectives, program contents, evaluation criteria, followed by some of its respective reports. This first part is concluded with the elaboration of a critical reflection on the work developed throughout the school year. The second part consists of the research project, entitled "Clarinet Initiation Manual - Methodologies and Strategies". The choice of this topic of study - a clarinet initiation manual - is directly related to the concern that there are almost nonexistent Clarinet Initiation textbooks in Portuguese that do not require a previous knowledge of the musical language. It is made a theoretical background on the clarinet, its history and its characteristics. It is developed the theme of musical and instrumental learning in childhood, as well as instrumental initiation in Portugal. A definition of Instrument Manual is defined, as well as the guiding principles for its construction. The third and final part of this research is developed in the process of construction of the Manual, based on the results of a questionnaire survey for clarinet teachers, in order to verify the most important characteristics in a Manual of Initiation to Clarinet. After its elaboration, it was validated through a questionnaire survey for specialized teachers, comparing the most commonly used Manual in Portugal for this level of learning, with the Manual elaborated through this research. Subsequently, the data was collected and presented, to conclude the study. This project contains some implications and motivations that are still described in this last part.
