Description
Abstract The diagnostic tests for COVID-19 are one of the greatest weapons that Humanity has to equip itself to be able to contain the pandemic, as these will allow to identify the carriers and naturally isolate them from contacts with other Human Beings and thus contain the chains of streaming. But the capacity of these tests, namely with regard to their intrinsic (sensitivity and specificity) and extrinsic (positive and negative predicted values) values, depending on the prevalence of the disease, is essential, in order to obtain a better precision of the results and definition of a strategic testing plan. The lack of a “gold standard” test is one of the biggest limitations for now. Thus, with this work, we intend to make an analysis of the diagnostic capacity of these tests and the importance that they may have in combating the pandemic caused by SARSCoV- 2.
