Description
The Raspberry Pi is a development platform which simplifies the process of developing a custom solution and to rapid prototyping. The Raspberry Pi, commonly know as a single board computer is a strong addition in the maker world. The goal is to implement a monitoring system, LibreNMS, into the Raspberry Pi 4 as a proof of concept. The purpose is to demonstrate the viability of the system as part of a production, development, quality or sandbox. Furthermore, the usage of open source software is a secondary aim of the project. This project makes a background overview of the market in question, the summary of the implemented system and discussion of the obtained results. The Raspberry Pi is tested through a consecutive adding of monitored clients and the extrapolation of the data in order to predict the system performance. The Raspberry Pi 4 successfully manages to run the LibreNMS instance, and the results shows a maximum load of one hundred and thirty two monitored clients.
