Description
Abstract : The present project arises from the verified need to develop and standardize multiple means of communication at HDAM - Hospital Dr. Ayres de Menezes in São Tomé and Príncipe and, consequently, for the Ministry of Health and Government of São Tomé and Príncipe. The aim was to create a communication strategy and develop an information and guidance system that would meet the cultural context, social values and communication needs of a heterogeneous audience. To solve the detected communication problems, communication design, specifically visual identity and information design, were found to be the basic disciplines for the creation of a coherent system that will allow users to decode information and circulate autonomously in hospital space. The elaboration of this project in the field of graphic design is a huge challenge, in order to show the influence that it can have on the image and communication of the Government of São Tomé and Príncipe and HDAM, as well as on the standardization of all visual means that they range from graphic branding to signage. The general objective is centered on the creation of a practical project, focused on the development of the Government's visual identity and on the Hospital's internal and external communication. In this project a mixed methodology, interventionist and non-interventionist, of qualitative basis was applied. With this project it is expected to achieve improvements in internal and external communication that improve the country's image for its visitors and greater autonomy in access to information and mobility for users.
