Description
Abstract : The Slow Fashion movement has as its utmost the existence of a greater awareness in the consumption of clothing competing with the Fast Fashion, alerting consumers to the way clothes are produced and to the excessive and thoughtless consumption that compromises the sustainability of the planet. The Burel Factory is a company that presents itself in this new context, and it was this principle that the master's student prioritized, having selected it for the fulfillment of her internship. This report makes a theoretical approach to the Slow Fashion movement, where reference to new fibers, to new concepts of manufacture and production of textiles is made, always with the aim of contributing to the sustainability. Burel may have been the most used raw material, being the reason why a greater emphasis is given in this work, highlighting its origin, its characteristics, and its history. This report also describes the internship activities of the master's student that took place at the company Burel Factory, based in Manteigas and at TrendBurel, in Lisbon, over a period of five months. With this internship, the master’s student experienced multiple experiences in the labor market in the scope of burel weaving, products production, in the development of new projects, as well as in the marketing area.
